Ways To Drive Customers From Your Store
All the best marketing plans devised by the best
marketing people will not bear fruit if once your customers
enter your store you treat them like unwelcome guests.
Some marketers do not understand this. They treat customers
as transactions, as inconveniences, as tiresome, as nuisances.
for example, some marketers:
- Have employees who don't speak the same language as does
the customer.
- Have restrooms that are off-limits to customers, or are
filthy.
- Don't brew and offer fresh coffee.
- Have lobbies or waiting rooms with furniture that looks
as if they picked it up on the side of the road.
- Do not accept all credit cards.
- Close the store when customers want to shop.
- In waiting rooms offer old magazines that would have to
be germ factories.
- Scold the customer with "No,no" signs everywhere ( "No
shoes mean no service," "No cell phones", " No refunds", "No
change given".
- Refuse or complain at having to take back faulty
merchandise.
- Fight customers who want to drop a service or get out of
an unsatisfactory agreement.
You would not treat even the most unwelcome guest to your
home like this and isn't your customer a very welcome guest
to your Store?
